Port of Switzerland
The swiss Rhine Ports (SRH) is an independent, public corporation, owned by the two «half-cantons», Basel-Country and Basel-City. The corporation`s main role is to drive the ongoing development of the logistics and transport platform, in cooperation of the port, river and rail infrastructures within its remit and provides transport and logistics companies with the land they require, under long-term contracts. The port facilities that make up SFR are located in the half-cantons of Basel-City (Kleinhüningen) and Basel-Country (Birsfelden and Muttenz)
With annual river traffic topping 7 million tonnes, the Swiss Rhine Ports (SRH) are among the top eight major public ports along the Rhine. Their location in the Three-Border area (Germany/France and Switzerland), serviced by river, road, rail and air connections, have long made them a natural home for major international transport and logistics companies. The intermodal possibilities allow the Basel ports to be a key player in their customers supply chains, offering bespoke solutions through their seven weatherproof transhipping sheds for solid bulk liquids and a large number of mobile cranes.
