Launch of a Single Window For Inland Navigation in Flanders

Good news about our ports

16 February 2021

The Belgian ports of North Sea Port, Antwerp, Zeebrugge, Oostende, De Vlaamse Waterweg nv, Agency for Maritime Services, and Coast and Gemeenschappelijk Nautisch Beheer have worked together on a common digital data platform.

The SWINg (Single Window for Inland Navigation) platform was launched in January 2021 and allows inland navigation operators and the waterway and port authorities to exchange navigation data, such as on the route, the type of cargo and on the ship. Inland shipping companies only need to submit a single digital report at the start of their route when navigating in Flanders and the Western Scheldt. This new platform simplifies administrative process for the users by making the data available to all the port authorities, making inland navigation safer and more effective.
