Liege Port Authority, the first Belgian inland port and the third largest European inland port (handling 16 million tonnes in 2023) has been a proud member of the European Federation of Inland Ports since its creation 30 years ago!
We are very proud that the European Federation of Inland Ports is recognised as a professional network and we are honoured to be a part of it. EFIP not only keeps us updated on ongoing developments and European Union’s decisions on European ports and policies, but also provides a platform for sharing professional experiences and practices among our members.
Over the last 30 years, EFIP has collaborated on various projects and enabled progress towards a common goal.
Being part of the EFIP‘s family means being part of a large community that has an important purpose: the promotion of intermodal nodal points in transport and logistics as well as combining inland waterway transports!
Since the creation of EFIP, Liege Port Authority has also had the opportunity to organise various meetings and member gathering events. This is excellent for networking opportunities at a European level and for sharing best practices between all European members.
Finally, in the last three decades, EFIP has been managed by different fantastic colleagues and team members contributing to a smooth, reliable, and long-term collaboration.
It has always been great and a pleasure working with EFIP’s professional team!
For the future, Liege Port Authority aims at developing and increase the modal shift (rail and water).
It is an ambition that meets both the challenges of decarbonisation and the ecological transition of logistical flows.
Thank you EFIP for being part of our port family and we are looking forward to continuing working with you!
Happy 30th anniversary EFIP!
