Establishment of HAROPA PORT

Good news about our ports

21 June 2021

On 1 June 2021, HAROPA PORT became the official, single port complex comprised of the ports of Le Havre, Rouen, and Paris. The merger enhances the port’s competitivity in Europe, as HAROPA PORT is now the first port in France and the fifth largest port in Northern Europe.

The grouping HAROPA – Ports of Paris Seine Normandy created in 2012 is now moving forward by becoming HAROPA PORT. A new brand was therefore created to embody the organisation’s ambitions and strategy. To highlight the new common identity of HARORA PORT, a new logo was also developed to represent dynamism, fluidity, and complementarity, core values of the port complex.

The headquarters of the port are located in Le Havre but the three local ports will keep their area management bodies based in Le Havre, Rouen, and Paris. Regional development boards also represent the three local interests.

The French government has supported the creation of the port through a funding of 1.45 billion EUR, which will be used for several projects around the development of the port facilities, with a focus on the environment and the use of shared resources.
