EFIP celebrates its 30th Anniversary in Mantova
Press Releases
11 October 2024
On 11 October 2024, EFIP members gathered in Mantova, Italy, for their annual Executive Committee meeting and to celebrate the 30th anniversary of EFIP. The event was hosted by the Port of Mantova.
For the past three decades, EFIP has proudly advocated for inland ports across Europe, emphasizing their crucial role as intermodal transport hubs. By actively engaging with EU transport and environmental policies, EFIP has ensured that inland ports remain a key focus for European and international organisations. This proud moment is captured in the release of the special 30th-anniversary publication, available in both print and digital formats.
To mark this event, a printed and digital publication was unveiled to the members. This publication celebrates insights from member collaborations and developments across ports, while highlighting the future role of inland ports in driving sustainable growth, supporting the EU's green agenda, and promoting multimodality. It commemorates EFIP's milestones and outlines a strategic vision for the future of Europe's inland ports.
You can access the digital publication through this website:
On the 30th anniversary, Mr. Antoine Berbain, EFIP President added “Since 1994, the EFIP has grown alongside the EU, transforming inland ports into crucial logistics and green energy hubs. Despite challenges like geopolitical crises and climate change, EFIP remains focused on innovation and a shared European vision for the future.”
And Turi Fiorito, EFIP Director pointed out that “Celebrating EFIP's 30th anniversary, we reflect on our growth alongside the EU and our role in driving Europe's progress. While honouring past achievements, we remain focused on playing our part for a sustainable and connected Europe.”
